"If the system breaks down the consequences will still be very painful. But the bigger the system grows the more disastrous the results of its breakdown will be, so if it is to break down it had best break down sooner rather than later."

Religion
The idea of an established religion baffles me. Yet, at the same point, it makes a lot of sense. When people worshipped trees and the moon, they merely did it to pass time and add drama to their world. The mere presence of worship changed their daily lives and it was essentially a precursor to the modern world of religion. Fast forward to now. In many city's phonebooks, there are pages beyond pages of churches. There are evangelical, catholic, methodist, four square, and mormon churches, just to name a few...if mormon counts. Anyways, this says to me that there is such a division amongst so called "beliefs," that in sense, religion has turned into a business. The beliefs of many are essentially based on a capitalist sense of life. I'm not saying I don't believe in God. However, I find it hard to see the division amongst the denominations.
